In a move that underscores its commitment to the community, Ahlibank has signed an agreement with Ministry of Labour to provide scholarships to ten Qatari nationals under the ‘Distinguished Student Scholarship’ scheme. These scholarships will allow a new generation of Qataris to develop their skills in banking and finance, which will, in turn, positively contribute to the development of Qatar. On this occasion, Salah Murad, CEO of Ahlibank said: “We recognise that education is the cornerstone of any country’s future. Ahlibank has a responsibility from a corporate as well as a social perspective to provide opportunities to Qatari nationals.” “The development of our youth will ensure the development of Qatar. This will ultimately benefit everybody”, Salah further added. Under the scholarship, Qatari students will be provided with an opportunity to pursue a bachelor’s degree in either banking or finance at Qatar University or one of the international universities in Qatar. The scholarship is automatically renewed until graduation, and successful students will be better equipped to pursue a career at Ahlibank after graduation. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local_News&subsection=Qatar+News&month=August2009&file=Local_News20090820231851.xml
