For all those who want to visit Qatar that are not able to get a visa on arrival, they must go through a travel company or middleman. These prices are unregulated and can cost tourists anywhere from 400QR to 3000QR for a one month tourist visa. The price is soley at the discretion of the tourist company.

One expat shared his story with ILQ. He stated that he had tried to bring his wife to visit Qatar for one month. Since he did not possess a lease contract for a residence, as he was living in a hotel, he was unable to get the visit visa for his spouse. He sought the help of a middleman that then charged him 3000QR to obtain the one-month tourist visa.

It is certainly hoped that eventually the government will apply a fixed rate for all tourist visas in the near future. Till then, it is highly advised to shop around and plan well in advance so you can find the best possible deal.
