A police dog “attacking” an armed assailant in a demonstration, allowing its trainer to retrieve the criminal’s gun and detain him. The demonstration was part of the opening ceremony of the new Police Canine Department in Doha yesterday. Qatar’s police canine operations were initiated in 1975 when the country became the second Gulf state after Kuwait to launch a police dog department.
