The Ministry of Interior announced on 4 May 2023 that Qatar Customs, along with The General Directorate of Drug Enforcement, has thwarted the smuggling of 90 kilograms of hashish.

The hashish was found hidden in a shipment of watermelons.

Four suspects have been arrested and have been referred to public prosecution for legal measures to be taken.
