63 graduate from Stenden University

DOHA: The fourth group of students yesterday graduated form the Stenden University in Qatar to join the international industry of hospitality. A total of 63 students graduated both in International Hospitality Management and International Tourism Management including many Qataris. “This achievement of graduating the sixth class from Stenden University Qatar comes with their efforts to advance the standard of living of the entire Qatari community and the standards of education on particular,” said Shiekh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, Chairman, Stenden University Qatar, while addressing the students. Stenden has its main university in Netherlands with campuses in South Africa, Indonesia Thailand and in Qatar with 10,000 alumni in the area of hospitality management alone. “Stenden Qatar is the most international campus site of all Stenden, with its 38 different nationalities in a total population of 500 students and 20 different nationalities within its staff,” said Leendert Klaassen, president of the Executive board of Stenden University. Jassim Thani Jassim Al Thani, a student graduated in International Hospitality Management, while sharing his learning experience in Stenden University Qatar said: “We have always been one family with a common goal to strive to advance education and knowledge.” Another student International Hospitality management graduate Syrine Abi Rached explained how she leant other cultures while studying with students form different nationalities. “Despite pour cultural differences we were a harmonious variety of individuals, helping each other to, in someway, survive these four years here and, in other ways, succeed the whole experience,” said Syrine. “Stenden, with its unique curriculum, granted us the opportunity to work as groups yet remain individually,” she added. The Stenden University offers three associate degrees, 19 bachelor programmes and four master programmes in the fields of (Service) Management, Education, Care, Economics and Technique.
