6 local yards selling agriculture products have been opened around Doha. These yards are at Al Mazrouh, Al Wakrah, Al Khor, Al Thakira, Al Sheehaniya and Al Shamal and they sell more than 21 different types of locally produced vegetables, says Abdul Rahman al-Sulaiti, supervisor of these yards at Ministry while speaking to Al Raya newspaper.

He said that prices of products are expected to go down as more vegetables and larger quantities will be on display at the yard at the start of December.

Al Mazrouah yard is being expanded to add two new companies products which will increase the total number of local participating farms to 137 farms for this season. These yards are an excellent opportunity for the local farmers as they don't have to pay any fees nor there is any mediator between them. These measures have reduced the retail prices by 20% compares to other outlets.

Products on sales at the yard include Cucumbers, Zucchini, Watermelon, Sweet Melon, Eggplant, Peppers, Tomatoes, leafy vegetables, poultry, fish and plants. More variety of products will be added as the harvest time of each plant approaches.

These yards are an excellent opportunity to buy fresh local produce, to not only support Made in Qatar products but also to eat fresh vegetables and fruits.
