DOHA - Qatar Telecom (Qtel)Qatar Telecom will today be offering a 50 percent discount on all international calls as its way of commemorating Telecom Day. Calls can be made by GSM postpaid and Hala users, landline subscribers, with a Qcard - which is a prepaid card for fixed lines - and payphones. Qtel said yesterday the facility will be available till midnight. A Qtel statement said today's promotion is intended to celebrate Telecoms Day. Sheikh Fahad bin Jassim Al Thani, Qtel COO, said: "It was our intention to commemorate Telecom Day by passing along unprecedented savings to our customers on May 17.
