The Ministry of Interior has announced in a tweet that the Criminal Investigation Department of the General Department of Criminal Investigation managed to arrest a gang consisting of 5 people for the crimes of stealing money and personal belongings in the manner of "pickpocketing".

The Ministry received reports that a number of people were subjected to theft crimes by distracting them and stealing their money and personal belongings while they were travelling in crowded places. Immediately, a specialized team was formed to carry out searches, investigations and information gathering, which resulted in the arrest of 5 accused; When confronted, they confessed to the charges against them, and some of the stolen objects were found in their possession.

Accordingly, the seizures were made and the accused were referred to the competent prosecution to complete the legal procedures against them.

The competent authorities call on everyone to pay attention and take care of personal belongings while moving in crowded places and to report any suspected case by calling the emergency service 999 or reporting it through the Metrash 2 application.
