The circulating message is written in Arabic stating "A heinous crime committed by a hated ex-husband against his ex-wife Arwa, who was shot in the head after winning the custody of a child after more than 4 years of court case. Upon the first time she embraced her son's hand in more than 5 years of tortures and threats of deportation from the country for not being the citizen, Arwa was killed in front of the court and police station witnessed by people. Her child also witnessed this ugly crime. Does he let this crime mess with the law?"

According to Doha News, the woman, Arwa Al-Sanea, a Yemeni resident of Qatar was shot dead by her former husband outside a family court in Doha on 7 January 2021 and that the incident happened when the 40-year-old was stepping out of a taxi when her child’s father shot her in broad daylight.

Arwa's ex-husband, Khaled Al Yafei, a Yemeni-Qatari national, shot Al Sanea in front of her son before surrendering to the authorities. Doha News also mentioned that Arwa was reportedly threatened by her former husband and warned that she would be deported to her home country.
