Mr. Ali Al Khater, the Executive Director of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC)for Corporate Communication emphasizes that the Health National Strategy 2011-2016 provides aspiring and ambitious reform that conforms to the Qatar national visions 2030 in the health fields and it aims it achieving seven goals through specific 35 programs for achieving a specific quality leap and improving medical services so as to attain the highest levels of quality to keep up with the highest international standards as reported by Qatar Chronicle. On the sideline of HMC participation at the Annual Arab Hospitals Forum in Cairo, he points out that there is cooperation between the Health Supreme Council and HMC for the purpose of well serving the Qatari people and creating a community that enjoys health and wellbeing and for disseminating health awareness and encouraging the health living style throughout Qatar and supporting the services that takes into account the constant population increase. He adds that HMC secured the highest international quality certificates in accordance with the American rates and specifications three years ago, which certificate is obtained only be corporations that deserves it. The certificate is renewable on an annual basis. There are American teams that stay at the concerned corporation for sometime to judge whether that corporation is worthy of that certificate. It is not an easy matter. There are strict standards and requirements, which HMC has passed. Al Khater further says that HMC has realized a very significant leap in terms of the service and the quality or expansion of providing the services and increasing the number of beds and hospitals at the various medical specializations the latest of which was the opening of Al Wakra Hospital to serve the South regions, thus joining HMC family of hospitals which has more than 20 thousand personnel as per the statistics of 2011. HMC works to build up Qatari cadre of expertise at the healthcare field and it hosts experts from the various world countries in order to transfer their expertise to the national cadre to achieve sustainability of healthcare by national personnel at the various hospitals; Hamad General Hospital, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Cardiology, the National Center for Cancer Treatment and Researches, Al Rumaila Hospital, Al Khor Hospital or Al Kupi Hospital in addition to the last of the chain, Al Wakra Hospital. Al Khater adds that there are significant future preparations for pushing along the path of success. We rely on the constant development and on keeping up with the latest world technologies in the various medical, nursing and administrative areas.
