United Filipino Organizations in Qatar (UFOQ) in partnership with Pinoy Wise Qatar conducted a free seminar on family income management held at Inihaw Republik on May 12.
Thirty community members, many representing various groups, took part in the activity aimed at raising the awareness of Filipino families in saving up for the future and preparing for retirement. UFOQ Chairman Engineer Ressie Fos and Chair of UFOQ's Advocacy and Training Committee Ed Alcantara together with experts from Pinoy Wise led the initiative.
The sessions, moderated by Pinoy Wise Member and UFOQ Adviser Atty Daisy Garcia-Tingzon, covered budgeting and tracking expenses, saving for investment and for retirement and getting out of debt. Discussions on migration issues and addressing barriers to reintegration were also among the highlighs of the seminar. The featured experts were Noel Zamora, Victor Macanip. Pastor Danila de la Torre, Mirasol Amihan, Ellen Labastida, Rey Balita and Mishrym Maulion.
