2nd Edition of 'Charitable Homes' launched by Qatar Charity

Qatar Charity launched the second edition of the program "charitable homes" to support humanitarian projects, which is a competitive program, that promotes the spirit of giving and creativity among family members, and encourages families to participate and compete in doing good through family activities.

The program aims to strengthen family relations and consolidate the foundations of social solidarity, in addition, to invest the time of the family gathering in Ramadan in supporting charitable projects in a creative and competitive way, and to provide children with a series of publications and stories dedicated to instilling human values, feelings and humanitarian projects.

Also, it seeks to spread the values of humanitarian work and introducing the needs of people in other countries in addition to training on the basics of creating and marketing small projects and benefiting from the energies of entrepreneurs in the field of human and social work.

In this context, the department of local development held an introductory forum for the participating families. At the outset, the project director Maysoun Ali gave a detailed explanation about the project and motivating the children to take initiative and use their time during the month of Ramadan to polish their personalities, develop their abilities and enhance their positive values. This year, the program targets 20 Qatari households, where participation remains open.

The "charitable homes" program witnessed huge turnout from the families in its first edition, where the nine families contributed to support charitable projects worth of QR 190,000, where the proceeds of the exhibitions held at homes were dedicated for 17 charitable projects, chosen by the participating families, varied between economic empowerment projects, education projects, drilling wells, building a mosque and medical equipment.
