2013/14 Public Budget discussed by Shura

Doha March 26- The Advisory (Shura) Council held on Monday its ordinary weekly meeting of its 41st regular session under its Speaker HE Mohammed bin Mubarak al-Khulaifi. At the outset of the meeting, the Advisory Council Secretary-General Fahd bin Mubarak Al Khayareen read the agenda, which was agreed upon. The Advisory Council then endorsed the minutes of its previous session. The Council also read a memo by the General-Secretariat of the Cabinet on referring the estimates of the major public projects in the Stat’s draft budget for the fiscal year 2013/2014 to the Shura Council which has taken a note of it. The session was attended by HE Minister of Economy and Finance Yousef Hussain Kamal, HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Finance Khalaf bin Ahmed Al Mannai, HE Director of the General Budget Department at the Economy and Finance Ministry Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al Thani and HE President of Public Works Authority (Ashghal) Engineer Nasser Ali Mawlawi. In an address delivered on the occasion, the Advisory Council Speaker expressed thanks and appreciation to HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani for his sublime directives and due attention accorded to the sectors of education, health, housing, infrastructure and energy through providing the necessary financial allocations. ”This all derives from HH the Emir’s keenness on the welfare of the homeland and the interests of the citizens and exerting whatever necessary to realize the aspirations of the Qatari citizens for better future to our beloved country”, HE al-Khulaifi said. The Advisory Council Speaker welcomed HE Yousef Hussain Kamal and the other participants who attended the session to thankfully explain the government’s viewpoint as regard the major projects of the state’s public draft budget of the fiscal year 2013/2014 and presenting the necessary clarifications on inquiries posed about it. Then HE the Minister of Economy and Finance explained the viewpoint of the government on the state’s public draft budget of the fiscal year 2013/2014. Later the Advisory Council discussed a report submitted by the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee on the draft budget of the state’s major projects of the fiscal year 2013/2014 and decided to refer its recommendations thereon to the cabinet Source:Qatar Chronicle
