Roger Dubuis, the Geneva-based watch maker known for its extravagant design and technical expertise, unveiled at the 6th Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibit at the Qatar International Exhibition Centre the latest in its line of high-caliber watches - the KingSquare Haute Joaillerie, which cost close to a million dollars. This exceptional watch, set with 538 diamonds marks yet another milestone for the brand that has pushed the creative and technical boundaries of the watch-making world since the launch of the brand in 1995. The new collection uses the very exclusive Invisible Diamond Setting. All 538 diamonds framing the watch-face are uniform in colour, cut, clarity and carat weight and are set so that no metal part is visible: no prongs, no beads, no channels. Weighing in at 34.75 carats, the diamond-studded watch is a classic in design – a Flying Tourbillon set at 7 o’clock completes one revolution per minute and bases its strength on a mainspring that gives it a comfortable 60 hour power reserve. Diamonds are set on both the white gold case of the watch as well as the dial, leaving room only for the Flying Tourbillon. The movement is subtle and takes minimum of space in the watchcase allowing the wearer to enjoy the purity and beauty of the timekeeping art piece. The Poinçon de Genève hallmark, Switzerland ’s famous and independent certification, is visible on the movement through the see-through sapphire back of the watch. “The KingSquare Haute Joaillerie is the pinnacle of perfection for Roger Dubuis jewellery watches. With its breath-taking perfection and masterful design, Roger Dubuis brings together the best traditions of Swiss watchmaking and injected the brand’s signature touch of flamboyance,” stated Omar Chaoui, Regional Brand Manager, Roger Dubuis. The KingSquare Haute Joaillerie was unveiled to industry professionals earlier this year at the SIHH in Geneva . Following its public launch in Doha , it will be taken on a 12-month world tour culminating at the famed Roger Dubuis boutique in Geneva. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local_News&subsection=Qatar+News&month=February2009&file=Local_News2009021965126.xml
