The Qatar Chain Reaction (QCR), an organisation promoting cycling in the country, is to hold a ‘Century Ride’ on November 13. Those taking part in the 160km ride through the Qatari desert will need to bring the mandatory helmet and gloves, an official said. The starting point of the ride is Reach Out To Asia (Rota) parking lot at 6am from where the route goes northwest towards Dukhan and back. “Although the ride is free, the participants are encouraged to bring their own food and sports drink. QCR Century Ride t-shirts are also available for QR50, but are free to volunteers who also get a free lunch,” the official said.
