129 killed in road accidents since January

DOHA: A total of 129 people died in road accidents in Qatar over the past eight months- from January until August- while 360 people sustained serious injuries. The number of minor injuries caused by traffic accidents during the period amounted to 3,017, according a report published by Al Sharq daily yesterday. The highest number of casualties were recorded in January- 22 deaths, 62 serious injuries and 374 minor injuries. The month of February saw 18 deaths, 46 serious injuries and 333 minor injuries. The death toll in March, April and May stood at 19, 13 and 12 respectively. The casualties went up again in June with 16 deaths while July saw more or less similar number of incidents- 17 deaths.
