As many as 120 private schools in Qatar have sought permission to hike tuition fees for the academic year 2017-2018, sources at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education told Arabic daily Arrayah.
The decision of the Ministry is expected to be announced in February.
The schools are classified into three categories according to the quality of their educational services.
The Ministry had notified the schools in December to apply for fee hike if they wished to, through a circular from the department concerned.
The application forms were submitted online through the Ministry’s website.
In addition, applicants should support their claims with valid reasons and documentation in details to justify the requested fee hike, the daily added. (Source)
