11th Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition Opens Today Inviting Families to a Host of New Visitor Experiences

Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition returns for its 11th edition to delight fashion enthusiasts, aspiring designers and shoppers with an eclectic mix of contemporary modest fashion and exciting new visitor experiences. Doors will officially open today to a sound of fanfare for families and fashionistas from 4:30PM to 10:00PM at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC). The show continues Saturday (29 April) to Tuesday (2 May) as ladies-only 10:00AM to 10:00PM

For the first time in the show’s history, families are invited to attend the opening day enabling husbands to accompany their daughters and wives, with children over the age of 13 invited too. This dynamic free-to-attend 5-day event in the heart of Doha’s West Bay brings a series of new experiences designed to educate, inspire and celebrate the growing global billion-dollar modest fashion industry. The 11th edition of Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition invites visitors to browse and shop from over 250 exhibitors, with over 100 of which are Qatari exhibitors showcasing an exciting array of abayas, kaftans, jalabiyas, veils, gowns, among other fashion pieces from local, regional and international brands.

Complementing this year’s brands are a wealth of industry leaders and experts who will guide and host daily forums and workshops for visitors, on a first come first serve basis. This includes ESMOD, the world-renowned French fashion school who will host daily interactive workshops, catwalk fashion shows presenting new season collections and emerging trends, and fashion-forward panel discussion forums led by international design thought-leaders, such as Elsa Baretto, Egidio Rep, Isabelle Nuñez, and Marina Conde.

At the opening on Friday (28 April), Debaj, Qatar’s much loved designer, Debaj, will kick off the Grand Opening Fashion Show at 4:30PM, followed by Anara, as both designers showcase their latest Spring/Summer Collections. At 5.30PM, the Middle East meets the West as Rabi Georges from Qatar and Robert Gaedeke-Borek of Germany lead a forum on ‘How Culture Affects Fashion.

Visitors are encouraged to attend early to avoid disappointment, particularly for TV personality and celebrated make-up expert, Joelle Mardinian of acclaimed beauty spa ‘Masion de Joelle,’ who will share her tips and tricks with attendees. Joelle’s opening day talk will start at 6:30PM, followed by inspiring collections from Amy Designs, Dar Taraf, Qmall and Vintage who will hit the catwalk at 8:00PM to close out Heya’s first day. Joelle will also host ‘All About Skin’ workshops on Sunday (30 April) and Monday (1 May) at 10:30AM.

Organised by Qatar Tourism Authority and delivered by Design Creationz, Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition provides a high-profile platform for established and up and coming local, Khaliji and international designers.
