More than 1,500 delegates have registered for the Qatar International Medical Exhibition and Congress (Q-MEDEC ) and 40 percent of the available exhibition space has already been sold out, its organisers said yesterday. The event is December is jointly organised by the Hamad Medical Corporation and Qatar Expo. The five-day Q-MEDEC Exhibition will begin on December 12 December, with participation of 140 pioneering local and international healthcare companies at the Doha Exhibition Centre. As Qatar’s first major medical and healthcare event, the Q-MEDEC Exhibition provides the ideal platform for medical equipment manufacturers, pharmaceutical suppliers, tele-medicine and healthcare information system suppliers, medical booksellers, medical colleges and all health-related companies eager to grab a share of the $16bn Qatari healthcare market. Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar, Sidra Medical and Research Center and Qatar University College of Pharmacy have already confirmed their participation in the exhibition. “Qatar’s healthcare systems are undergoing fundamental changes. These result in new challenges for medical professionals and everyone involved in the industry concerning new trends and ways of thinking. Q-MEDEC will be an important step in assisting the Qatari medical industry to evolve to meet these challenges,” said Dr Abdulwahab Al Musleh, vice-chairman for the Q-MEDEC organising Committee. “We expect exhibition space to get fully booked quickly.
