Tickets go on sale Monday at Virgin Megastores for two live musical shows that will take place in the last week of Qatar Summer Festival, organized by Qatar Tourism Authority.

Renowned Syrian artist Asala Nasry and up-and-coming Moroccan star Saad Lamjared will perform on August 28 at Ali bin Hamad Al Attiyah arena, near Al Sadd Sports Club, which seats up to 7,700 spectators. Music fans with a taste for Gulf tunes can buy tickets for the preceding concert on August 27, featuring performances by the half Yemeni, half Emirati artist Balqis Fathy, and the popular Saudi artist Rabeh Saqr.

Ticket prices for the shows, which begin at 9.00 pm range between QAR 199 and QAR 1,499. Doors will open at 7.00pm and special seating areas reserved for women only will be available.

“We are thrilled to have secured such a star-studded line up of singers, popular all around the Arab world, especially as our aim is to cater to visitors and residents seeking both culture and entertainment in a family-friendly environment suitable for all ages,” commented Mashal Shahbik, Festivals and Events manager at QTA.

The live shows will come at the conclusion of the month-long Qatar Summer Festival, which will also host the Doha Comedy Day, featuring a group of stand-up comedy pioneers from across the Gulf. The comedians include Bader Saleh, Ibrahim Khairallah, Fahd Al Butairi, Ahmed Al Shammari and Ali Al Sayed. The event will be hosted by Qatari comedian Hamad Al Ammari.

Qatar Summer Festival continues until 31st August and targets visitors from around the GCC with a range of entertainment activities for families in a festive, safe environment that reflects their culture and heritage. This year’s edition is expected to drive up inbound tourism numbers with new attractions, special hotel rates and weekly raffle draws on valuable prizes.
