Tickets go on sale this week for Doha Comedy Day, a stand-up comedy event hosted by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) as part of the Qatar Summer Festival 2015.

Six stand-up comedians from around the Gulf will perform at the evening event, which takes place at Qatar National Convention Centre on August 29 at 8.00 pm. The comedians are Badr Saleh, Ibrahim KhairAllah, and Fahd Al Betiri from Saudi Arabia; Ali Al Sayed from the United Arab Emirates and Ahmed Al Shimari from Kuwait. The group will offer concentrated doses of humour along with their Qatari host, Hamad Al Emari.

“We are delighted to welcome some of the Gulf’s stand-up comedy pioneers to Doha, to inject humour and joy into the last few days of the Qatar Summer Festival,” commented Mashal Shahbik, Manager of Festivals and Events at QTA. “The routines will use comedy to talk about issues common to Gulf culture and every-day life, and we think the carefully-selected line-up for Doha Comedy Day will appeal to all audiences, residents and visitors.”

Tickets for the show are available at the Doha Exhibition Centre, where an Entertainment City has been set up for the duration of the Summer Festival. They will also be on sale at Virgin Megastores branches and on the stores’ online ticketing portal. Ticket prices range between QAR 145 (silver), QAR 195 (gold) and QAR 295 (platinum).

Qatar Summer Festival continues from 1-31st August and targets visitors from around the GCC with a range of entertainment activities for families in a festive, safe environment that reflects their culture and heritage. This year’s edition is expected to drive up inbound tourism numbers with new attractions, special hotel rates and special offers on renowned brands lined up this year.
