Thousands attend Ministry of Interior's Eid Program

Thousands of Asian expat communities' members attended the 'Mega Eid Al Adha Cultural and Infotainment Celebration for Expat Communities' organized by the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Interior on the first day of Eid Al Adha at Asian Town and Asian Accommodation City (Labor City) in Doha Industrial Area from 5 pm to 10 pm.

The celebrations at Asian Town and Labor city comprised of many cultural and traditional shows and performances by the teams of Indian Cultural Center from different states of India and Indian orchestra team.

During the show, the Ministry of Interior represented by Traffic Department, Al Fazaa Police, Community Policing Department, Civil Defense, Drugs Enforcement Department, Human Rights Department and Public Relations Department utilized the mega show for raising the awareness of the audience on road safety, fires safety, drugs prevention law, services of Human Rights Department to the Public, pedestrian safety and services rendered by the Community Policing Department, Search and Follow Up Department and Visa Support Services Department to the public.

In addition to the community cultural shows and awareness programs, the organizers have arranged magic show and conducted raffle coupon draw for the audience, where the prizes were sponsored by Safari group and Grand Mall.

The performance of orchestra team and musical shows in multiple languages including Hindi, Urdu, Sinhalese, Nepali, Malayalam, Tamil and Bangladeshi languages enthralled thousands of audience who gathered in the venue from 5 pm to 10 pm from Indian, Bangladeshi, Sir Lankan, Nepalese and Pakistani communities.

On behalf of Brig. Abdullah Khalifa Al Muftah, Director of Public Relations Department, speaking in the felicitation ceremony for the sponsors of the event, Capt. Salih Al Marri of Public Relations of the Ministry of Interior extended Eid greetings to the audience as well as for sponsors and community leaders and thanked them for their presence in the celebration and appreciated their support for the event.

Speaking to media on the occasion of Eid celebration, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Interior Lt. Hamad Ali Jahweel Al Marri said that the Ministry is keen to organize these kinds of the programs in various locations of Qatar with the aim of providing a safer environment in a closer location for the members of the expat communities residing in Qatar including the employees and workers of the companies to celebrate Eid Al Adha and to enhance and strengthen cooperation and communication between the Ministry of Interior and expatriates in Qatar by providing safety and security tips during these events.

Ministry of Interior has been organizing cultural events and awareness programs for the expatriate communities on various national occasions such as Eid Al Fitr, Eid Al Adha and Qatar National Day since many years. This year's Eid Al Al Adha celebration was organized in collaboration with Indian Cultural Center and is sponsored by Ibn Ajyan projects, Naaas Group, Safari Mall, Grand Mall, Trsnscind Group and Emco Qatar.
