The Pearl-Qatar, one of the most desirable addresses in the Middle East, witnessed on Friday evening, the official celebration of Qatar National Day. Held across various locations on the Island, the celebration comprised several recreational as well as educational programs that highlighted Qatar's rich culture and heritage.

United Development Company (UDC), the master developer of The Pearl-Qatar, organized Qatar National Day celebrations that included many events. Among these, the most notable was Al-Ardha, the traditional Qatari dance that symbolizes national unity and strength .Three shows were held daily in an arena adjacent to The Pearl-Qatar's car parking area, and attracted local citizens, residents of the Island as well as a number of visitors from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

As part of the celebrations, The Pearl-Qatar also organized fireworks display on the waterfront. Thousands of visitors thronged the "Marsa Arabia" area, as the fireworks show ignited the enthusiasm of both the young and old alike. Impressive colorful skylights lasted for about 15 minutes, while Ardha involved adults and children at the Island’s entrance.

The interesting series of events, which kicked-off since last Wednesday, December 16 and will wrap-up tomorrow evening, Sunday, December 20, 2015 showcased distinctive shows and activities to the visitors. All these activities reflect the richness of authentic Qatar folklore traditions.

As one of the Gold Sponsors of the National Day Celebrations, The Pearl-Qatar in collaboration with Qatar Higher Organizing Committee celebrates the National Day with a series of events that reflect the country’s heritage, culture, and tradition.

Thousands rushed to The Pearl-Qatar on the event's eve, where celebration sites at the Island began receiving visitors from within and outside Qatar since early hours. All roads within the island witnessed human hustle due to an increase in the demand for events.

The main celebration of the evening also witnessed the arrival of a number of families and children, who visited several sites on the Island and learnt about exciting programs and activities lined up by The Pearl-Qatar.

Additionally, the traditional tents that were put up at 12 Croisette in Porto Arabia attracted several visitors, especially children and women, who enjoyed henna drawing and tasted Arabic coffee & dates. Further, these traditional Qatari tents offered a variety of delicious food thereby providing the visitors an opportunity to enjoy the taste of traditional delicacies.

Visitors also made a beeline to enjoy Karak Tea, the most popular drinks at Qatar booth within the Medina Centrale. They enjoyed several complementary cups, and have urged The Pearl-Qatar administration to fix location for the delicious (Karak) tea corner throughout the year. The Photography Corner also attracted a large number of guests, as it displayed the best moments of National Day captured by the photographers.
