The Gate Mall has announced it is holding a special activity in celebration of Eid Al Adha, from the 30th September to the 6th of October. Guests are invited to participate in an Origami workshop, where they will master the art of folding paper into shapes which will then be used to decorate the mall’s iconic tree sculptures.

Two professional artists have been flown in from the Origami Institute of Arts in Egypt, to lecture both adults and children on the history and origin of Origami. The artists will also show participants how to fold the papers into several shapes, as well as educate them on their meaning.

Commenting on the activity, The Gate Mall’s Marketing and PR representative, Isabella Ibrahim said: “We are very pleased to offer this unique activity to guests during Eid. This celebrative holiday is an excellent time for people to come together in the spirit of art, craft and sharing. Origami making is not only fun, but is also a very special art that requires skill and attention. The Gate Mall always strives to come up with new activities to bring the community together, and this one really allows one to explore his/her creativity. We are sure that once finished, the participants will have a new, enhanced appreciation for the art. We are also excited to see our trees fully decorated by the end, as they represent The Gate’s passion for artistic expression, and we wish everyone Eid Mubarak.”

Located at The Gate’s central court, the activity will run from 11 am to 9 pm, for the public as well as pass buyers in the mall, to enjoy Eid in an innovative and artistic way.
