The prestigious annual South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) is an event that promises to inspire and entertain film lovers from across the world. In association with Summer in Qatar, SIIMA is coming to the beautiful city of Doha for the very first time, creating a stir in the global entertainment industry.
Whilst representative exceptional work of art and innovation, SIIMA connects the glittering world of South Indian Film fraternity to an international audience. SIIMA 2019 is set to stun the city on August 15-16, where thousands of Qatar cinema fans will flock to see the stars of South Indian cinema as they descend upon the Lusail Multipurpose Hall for the two-day event.
The 8th South Indian International Movie Awards will recognise the best films and performances from the past year in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada films released in 2018. There will also be special honors for lifetime contributions to cinema, plus other specialist craft awards.
The official announcement for SIIMA 2019 was held on the 16th July 2019 with the announcement of tickets at Doha Bank in the presence of bank CEO Mr. Raghavan Seetharaman, Chairman of SIIMA Mr. Vishnuvardhan Induri, the CEO of ONE FM 89.6 Mr. Naveed Abdulla, and the CCO of ONE FM 89.6, Mr. Mohammed Jassim.
The awards ceremony will be managed by ONE FM 89.6 which will be able to hold almost 8000 people at the world-class Lusail Indoor Arena. Speaking to ILoveQatar.net, the CEO of ONE FM 89.6, Mr. Naveed Abdulla said:

Held during the current Qatar India Year of Culture, SIIMA 2019 promises to cater perfectly to the huge number of South Indian Cinema fans by attracting the industry’s biggest stars to Doha.
Plus, being the largest movie award event from India and offering top “A List” celebrity attendance (it is expected that over 200 top Indian movie celebrities will arrive in Doha) the consequently huge exposure of the event across all forms of social media and significant television airtime via major 4 regional TV channels will ensure a truly global focus on Qatar as a premier cultural and tourist destination.
The star-studded event will see 100 awards in 50 categories and His Excellency Shri. P. Kumaran, India’s Ambassador to Qatar, will attend the festivities, which commence on India’s Independence Day.

Tickets for the much-anticipated awards ceremony are available now at aynatickets.com. Ticket prices range from QAR 50-3000 and kids below 4 years old are free of cost, however, they will not have access to seats as seats are numbered. The seats are reserved based on your selection and you are requested to carry the ticket printouts at all times. Doors will open for entry by 5 pm.
