Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF) 2015, co-organized by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) and Qatar Airways, will host an exciting program of entertaining activities mainly targeting families and children.

Shows and performances will be held throughout the festival at the “Stage Zone” equipped with state-of-the art electrical and digital techniques to provide highest quality entertainment.

Tarek Sidani, a pop artist and songwriter, will play a number of his most beautiful tunes during the festival. A guitarist, Sidani is known for his great voice and ability to sing a variety of genres. Meanwhile, the "Drummers" band will stun the audience with their energetic beats.

Suitable for all family members, the shows provide an added value to enrich the festival's entrainment atmosphere providing it with a special flavor.

The activities also include dancing shows representing different cultures and countries. Skillful dancers will dazzle the audience with exciting performances, while solo break-dancers will move to the rhythm.

The "Chef Orchestra" including a number of professional musicians will play traditional tunes and perform original folk music using pipe instruments.

Egypt's Tanoura band, established in Cairo in February 1988, will also take part in the festival. Performing every Saturdays and Wednesdays throughout the year in Cairo, the band has participates in the national occasions and major events in Egypt, as well as being part of the cultural exchange program launched by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, and participating in many international festivals around the world. The band performs shows with traditional musical instruments such as the oboes, rababa, drums and rebecs. Accompanied by a traditional singer of religious recitations, the band includes male dancers who wear long colorful skirts and perform whirling dances, moving to special rhythms. All members of the band, including musicians and dancers, are self-taught learners acquiring their techniques from their fathers and grandfathers, without going to any school of arts.

The Qatari Arda dance will be strongly present at the festival, where male dancers from all ages wearing national dresses will perform in prestigious movements. Arda is a traditional sword dance originally designed to be performed in weddings and special national occasions. It always begins and ends with drum beats during which Gulf Mawawil, a traditional genre of vocal music, are performed. Each dancer carries a sword, swinging it down to the ground and then up to the shoulder level.

A key cultural and social event, QIFF aims to enrich entertainment in Qatar providing tourists and families with a chance to taste good food and spend quality time. Seeking to provide an opportunity for Qatar's hospitality sector to showcase its value offerings of food and beverages, QIFF gathers visitors belonging to different cultures from all over the world to take part in the various entertaining activities and competitions held on the sidelines of the event.
