Shop Qatar is back! And, it’s even bigger and better than the previous two years. Organised by the National Tourism Council (NTC), this grand shopping festival gives residents of Qatar and those who are visiting Qatar in this holidays season the opportunity to explore and take advantage of its diverse retail and entertainment offerings. There’s something that everyone can enjoy at Shop Qatar which will run on till 20 January 2019; from luxury malls to high-end boutiques, from entertainment-rich shopping malls to authentic souqs and bazaars; from promotions to special offers on hotel bookings and fine dining at Doha’s most prominent hotels; from entertainment and fun family activities to live concerts featuring renowned music sensations from around the world; and from cash prizes to winning cars.
But, wait! It doesn’t end there. There is much more!
For the first time in Shop Qatar, to celebrate its third edition, the Design District is being added to the mix and will offer a hub for the shopping festival’s fashion-forward events and masterclasses bringing the spirit of fashion, lifestyle and creative designs together under one roof at the DECC.
For Qatar, these are exciting times; with its aim of becoming the hub of creativity and talent through fashion, art and culture, not only in the Gulf region, but across the globe, Qatar is truly on its way! It is continuously on the lookout for new opportunities to nurture and celebrate truly innovative and forward-thinking ideas and solutions in the fashion, design and art industries and bring emerging and renowned artists to the fore-front so they can showcase their creative talents and gain the recognition they deserve.
For the first time in Shop Qatar, the Design District will offer a hub for the shopping festival’s fashion-forward events and masterclasses bringing the spirit of fashion, lifestyle and creative designs together under one roof at the DECC. The Design District promises to be one of this winter shopping festival's crowd pullers and loved by locals and visitors alike. Held from 5 January till 12 January at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC), Design District brings together some of the Gulf region’s biggest names in the fashion and makeup industry. All events will be held at DECC which is providing a unique platform for 75 pop-up shops which are showcasing unique offerings and a variety of customised services including designer boutiques, beauty services and artisanal shops; cafes; and over 20 fashion shows and master classes along with a busy schedule of live entertainment that you are sure to enjoy.

So, if you’re a fashionista and want to learn all about the latest trends in the fashion industry, be at DECC from 3 pm to 10 pm. For eight days, you can catch 22 internationally renowned fashion designers from 10 countries (Qatar – Oman – Kuwait – Tunisia – Morocco – Lebanon – Jordan – France – Turkey – India) showcasing their exclusive spring / summer 2019 collections alongside the world’s latest couture and ready-to-wear fashion from Paris to Mumbai on the DECC runway.
Most of the fashion shows are free and you can get seats on a first register first serve basis. However, if you are on the lookout for front row seats, then you can also purchase tickets for some of the fashion shows. You can register for your seats through the Shop Qatar mobile app or at the Design District’s registration desk at DECC.
11 renowned make-up artists and influencers will be offering make-up enthusiasts 12 beauty master classes so they can learn the latest fashion trends, workshops and a whole lot more in the eight days that make up the exciting Design District!
