The Youth Company – a Qatari social enterprise for youth development and empowerment – has announced that the first two days of RTW Festival 2014, the 18th and 19th of December, at Katara will be dedicated to “Celebrating Qatar”. In doing so, TYC has partnered with Embrace Doha, an organization that provides cultural orientation about Qatar to expatriates, to eliminate the gap between Qataris and non-Qataris. The first two days of this year’s festival will focus on the integration of Qatari culture, traditions, and way of life.

As TYC’s largest and most-anticipated youth event in the GCC Region, Run The World provides youth between the ages of 14 to 29 years an exciting opportunity to participate in a range of entertaining, dynamic, and community enriching activities, including sports competitions, extreme sports shows by professional athletes, musical performances, cultural showcases and a diverse cultural fair that culminates into three days of engaging programs for youth. Qatari youth play a prominent role in Qatar today and so understanding their culture is essential to understanding Qatar as a whole. Embrace Doha is an organization that provides a wide range of information about Qatari customs and traditions.

Embrace Doha is the first organization of its kind in Qatar; not only does it provide information for those who are new to Qatar but its’ services also include cultural consultations, awareness programs, and recreational trips. These services are for newcomers and those who may just want to learn more about Qatari culture and, essentially, “Embrace Doha”. TYC’s partnership with Embrace Doha will lead to a better integration of Qatari culture during this year’s festival.

“Understanding Qatari culture and tradition will tear down the wall between Qatari youth and non-Qatari youth, allowing for more tolerance, knowledge, and cooperation which will pave the way for a brighter future for Qatar as a whole” said Mohamed Farid, Founder and Chairman of The Youth Company International. Embrace Doha and TYC have formed this partnership essentially spread awareness about Qatari culture and dispel stereotypes that some people may hold.
