Qatar National Day 2021 - the ultimate guide to what's happening!

Qatar National Day (QND) is almost here, and we're excited. It's one of the best occasions here in Qatar and one that everyone loves celebrating.

Although Darb Al Saai activities are cancelled again this year, Qatar National Day 2021 will be celebrated across the country through various events and yearly activities such as the National Parade.

Here's everything you need to know about the activities and events taking place this year.

Watch the spectacular fireworks show from The Torch Doha Hotel the night before Qatar National Day!

The Parade

Have you ever watched the Qatar National Day Parade live?

This Qatar National Day will feature an infantry parade, but there will be no military vehicles taking part. You will, however, get to see some new naval vessels and aircraft that have recently started their service in Qatar. There are some surprises planned for the infantry parade and some special shows which have never taken place anywhere in the world before.

Fireworks on the Corniche

You don’t want to miss the special fireworks show that will light the Corniche skies in celebration of Qatar National Day. They are mesmerising, spectacular and a treat to watch.

Note:

  • The official timings of the fireworks have not been announced yet. Last year's fireworks were at 8 pm and we will update this article once we receive the confirmed timing. The timings on the listing are tentative at the moment.

Activities at Aspire Park

Aspire Park will host a number of events, including activities and competitions. Visitors will be introduced to Qatari customs and traditions like how to prepare and serve Arabic coffee, in addition to offering a range of other activities, such as storytelling for visitors, the popular puzzle competition (Al Rama’a), and the etiquette of the Majlis.

Activities at Old Al-Wakra Souq

The Qatar National Day activities at Old Al-Wakra Souq include various games and competitions, with a focus on heritage games and will give children the opportunity to participate in various traditional group games. There will be another event focusing on taking photographs inspired by the Qatari heritage along with an exhibition of old photography equipment.

The activities will cover all age groups. A riding competition will also be held at Al Wakrah Souq where prizes will be distributed to participants, in addition to a final competition that will be held on 18 December for the winners of the daily competitions.

Events at Qatar National Library

In celebration of QND, the Qatar National Library invites all talented young adult artists to showcase their appreciation for Qatari culture through painting and other art forms at the Qatar Art Exhibition for Young Adults. This two-hour session will give you the opportunity to work alongside several members of Qatar’s arts community.

This event is in English for young adults aged 12 - 18. Registration is a must.

    FIFA Arab Cup 2021™ 3rd place match and final

    The FIFA Arab Cup 2021™ final will take place on Qatar National Day, exactly a year before the FIFA World Cup 2022 final. The match for the 3rd place will be played at 1 pm at Ras Abu Aboud Stadium and the final will be at Al Bayt Stadium from 6 pm.

    Qatar National Day beach cleanup

    Doha Environmental Actions Project (DEAP) is celebrating Qatar National Day with a cleanup at Freiha Beach. This is a kid and family-friendly location. Due to COVID-19, registration is mandatory. It's a sedan friendly location, so anyone can come after registering. The cleanup will start at 10:30 am and go on till 12:30 pm, after which people can visit the nearby Al Zubarah Fort.
