Qatar Museums hosts seasonal cultural tourism activities for all to enjoy
In an unforgettable journey into the innermost depths of the past, Qatar Museums is hosting a number of unique and exciting events and activities at the historic Al-Zubarah World Heritage Site to celebrate Qatar’s culture and diverse heritage, starting this National Day.
Presented by Qatar Museums under the visionary guidance of its Chairperson, HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and in collaboration with Qatar Tourism Authority, the activities are suitable for all the family to enjoy, so don’t miss out!
National Day Celebration
Join in this celebratory event to mark Qatar's National Day. Different community institutions will contribute through multiple performances and displays of Qatar's heritage. These include:
· Al Arda performance, a traditional dance by Qatari men (sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Art and Heritage)
· Marine handicrafts, including splitting shellfish displays, netting and more (brought by the Doha Youth Centre)
· Marionette traditional crafts performance by Qatari artist Abdurrahman Al Mulla
· An exhibition showcasing traditional garments and gold jewellery, by Amel Al Ali
· Displays of local fish models from Qatar and the region (brought by the Ibrahim Bin Ali Centre)
There'll also be the opportunity to dress up like Qataris and have your photograph taken in a traditional setting, wearing traditional Qatari clothing!

Live Falconry Demonstration
Enjoy live demonstrations of the most common falcons in Qatar, in partnership with the Al Gannas Association. You’ll be introduced to the falcons and their names, and there'll be an exhibition of paintings and artistic models of the most common falcon species, as well as live demonstrations.
Date: 11th, 12th, 13th December and 6th March 2015
Time: 10am to 5pm in December and at 3pm to 5pm in March
Weekly Live Demonstrations of Handicrafts
Enjoy live demonstrations of old handicraft-making traditions, such as Sadu making, and savour the
tastiest dishes of Qatar's traditional cuisine to the tune of traditional rhymes and songs. There'll also be the chance for camel riding and to visit the archaeological site.
Date: Every Friday and Saturday from 4th December 2014 to 30th April 2015
Time: 3pm to 5pm on Fridays and 10am to 5pm on Saturdays
