The Film House (TFH), an award-winning Qatar-based film production and photography collective, recently crafted a pro bono art-filled film for International Day for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) to raise awareness.

The film called 'Perspective', according to the filmmakers, is a testament to the title name itself, "because inclusivity and accessibility for people with disabilities is all about how you see the world."

International Day for Persons with Disabilities

The film centers around art and how we perceive it, with the art work being a symbolic representation of disability and people with disability. People with disabilities are here with us, and we need to think more seriously and carefully about inclusivity; that people with disabilities can actively contribute to a happy, better and more cohesive society.

The film's director, Omar Khalifa, shared: “I wanted to create an awareness film that uses art as a device to ask how we look at things, and how we perceive things, as a metaphor for how we look at and treat people with disabilities."

He further added that if we change our angle, our perspective and our viewpoint, we can live in much more inclusive, stronger and accessible societies. "We’re better together with strong and resilient communities, working to help each other out."

Producer Jemina Legaspi on the other hand said that the reason why TFH gave the project a nod without expecting for anything in return is because they want to join hands in celebrating this day with PWDs, and help bring change in their society through storytelling and filmmaking.

Another special thing about the creative collaboration is that nearly all of the artwork in the film was made by hand, and the positivity around the project has been phenomenal.

"People stepped forward to help bring this to life. The kindness and collective attitude was overwhelming and absolutely heart-warming. It's our aim to make the film resonate with as many people as possible."

Please share the film to get the message out there!

TFH, a talented team of experienced and creative storytellers, documentarians, animators, photographers, and film directors, has recently won several awards at multiple international film festivals.

Following its success of 'Our Time is Now' promo video for Mondrian Doha which won Best Film from MEA at the Berlin Fashion Film Festival 2018, and Best Costume Design and Best Makeup and Hair Style at the London Fashion Film Festival 2018, TFH's short film 'Project Litmus' for Interpol has also won a Golden Dolphin at the Cannes Corporate Media and TV Awards 2018.

It has always been their intention to raise the bar for the film production industry in the GCC and MENA region—technically and artistically.
