Here's what you need to know about the Qatar Esports WEGA Global Games™ Grand Ceremony

The first Qatar Esports WEGA Global Games™ is almost here! To officially launch the start of this 3-year global eSports competition, eSports fans will be treated to a show-stopping live event on January 16, 2020, at Khalifa International Stadium starting at 8 pm. So if you're interested to watch this free event, scroll down to know all the details!

The event is free-of-charge but tickets are required.

Venue

The grand opening ceremony will be held at Khalifa International Stadium.

How to get there?

Car: If you are taking a private car, click here for the GPS location: Khalifa International Stadium

Metro: Take the Metro Gold Line and go down at the Sport City Station along the Metro Gold Line. The stadium is within walking distance.

If you're coming from the Red Line or Green Line, use the Msheireb station interchange to change to Gold Line. No need to tap out at Msheireb.

Parking and entrance information

Designated parking areas are mapped out in blue while the entrances are indicated in purple color at the map below provided by Aspire Zone.

Also according to Aspire, the gates will be open by 5 pm and the show will start at 8 pm.

What to expect at the Grand Ceremony?

This event will officially announce the launch of the Qatar eSports Wega Global Games edition 2020, 2021, 2022 in the presence of some of the biggest E-Athletes.

Spectators will be able to witness live performances, various entertainment, and a 20-min theatrical immersive show for the first time ever in Doha including VR & AR technologies.

Tokio Myers, a multi-instrument music producer who won Britain's Got Talent in 2017 will also deliver a 25-minutes concert after the show!

Around 15,000 fans and players are expected to attend, to celebrate Esports, and live the passion of gaming.

Qatar Esports WEGA Global Games™

This year, Qatar Esports WEGA Global Games™ will begin, with events continuing until 2022! The partnership between Wega, Aspire Zone Foundation, and Truxtun Capital will offer players across the world the chance to meet, share and compete.

Throughout the 3 editions, popular games will be featured in the competitions. This 2020, four games will be initially featured. These are CS: GO, DOTA2, Street Fighter V, eFootball PES 2020.
