Qatar National Day was marked yesterday across the country as buildings, streets and commercial complexes were decorated with the flag of Qatar and as citizens and residents of Qatar expressed their joy on this occasion and attended events and activities that included national anthems, songs, Qatari dance show 'Arda' and others.

This year, the National Day is celebrated under the slogan "Ten years embraced glory and arts, Obtained all excellence and manliness .. The path of excellence is difficult". This poetic line is of the Founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani, in which he talked about his martyr son Sheikh Joaan, enumerating his venerations, as he was of a young age, a student of knowledge, and a cavalier knight, and these are the values that were brought up in his Qatari environment. The slogan expresses the faith of successive generations of Qatari youth, that the path of the excellency is difficult, and to reach it you will need morality and science.

In this regard, the Ministry of Transport and Communications celebrated Qatar National Day in the presence of HE Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti and a wide participation from several senior MOTC officials, employees and their family members.

On this occasion, HE the Minister said, "Qatar National Day is a special annual event where we renew our determination to complete what our predecessors had begun for building a modern, forward-looking country that cherishes its roots and heritage. Marking this day is a clear reflection of the strong bonds and values of connection between the nation and the wise leadership."

He added that this special event is a great opportunity to renew determination from all of us to continue hard work, cooperation and all efforts to place this homeland higher and support its development and renaissance. He also noted that MOTC will continue its endeavors to provide transportation and communications systems with highest and latest universal standards and specifications, thus offering safe and reliable services and contributing to economic and social development, high quality of life and environmental sustainability in Qatar, observing the Qatar National Vision 2030.

The General Authority of Customs also organized a event for its employees on this occasion in the presence of HE Chairman of General Authority of Customs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Jamal, and a number of customs officials and their employees from all customs departments. It was also attended by HE Chairman of General Tax Authority Ahmed bin Issa Al Mohannadi, and a number of officials of the Authority. The event included many activities and heritage events.

Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) celebrated Qatar National Day by hosting an internal event. To mark the occasion, QIB invited all employees to come together and celebrate at QIB's headquarters in Grand Hamad Street. The event was attended by the executive management of the bank.

In the run up to this year's Qatar National Day event, QIB held a bank-wide photography to celebrate the occasion. Employees were encouraged to explore the country and take a photo of one of Qatar's national monuments. The winners were announced and rewarded during the event.

HE QIB Chairman Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jaber Al-Thani said: "Qatar's National Day is a special occasion for us." "We are committed to Qatar and have built our strategy to best complement Qatar's National Vision 2030," he added, while extending his congratulations and well wishes to the wise leadership on this occasion.
