Ooredoo drew crowds with a special Garangao celebration at Souq Waqif this weekend by bringing along the popular Alrabaa and distributing special goody bags to children.
The Alrabaa provided free nuts and sweets to the children and their families throughout the evening, and encouraged everyone at Souq Waqif to sing the traditional Garangao song together.
Fatima Al Kuwari, Director Community and Public Relations, said, “Garangao has a rich cultural heritage and we’re proud to have shared our countries traditions with everyone at Souq Waqif. Our cheeky mascots the Alrabaa enable us to connect to the community and we encourage everyone to join with the spirit of Ramadan.”
In addition to the Garangao celebrations at Souq Waqif, the Alrabaa have been carrying out random acts of kindness across the city, including surprising families waiting for the Ramadan Cannon in Doha by distributing Iftar boxes once the cannon was fired.
Part of the Alrabaa’s mission is to represent Qatari culture and the Garangao celebrations were another chance to remind people of the customs of the Holy Month.
