Dressed in their favourite Disney costumes, thousands of children turned out to meet Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse last night in their only public appearance at Landmark Mall, the Official Mall Partner of Disney Live! presents Mickey’s Music Festival.

This is the second year Landmark Mall has hosted the characters as part of an official Disney event in Doha. In 2013, Landmark Mall invited Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse for their first ever appearance in Qatar as part of Disney On Ice celebrates 100 Years of Magic.

Last night’s entertaining ‘Meet & Greet’, which include a special ‘Rock the Mouse’ performance, was an opportunity for young Qataris to meet the characters ahead of their scheduled appearance on stage at the Qatar National Convention Centre from February 12-16.

Zena Younis was a lucky member of the crowd along with her ten year-old son, Ahmad who were one of the lucky shoppers to meet Mickey and Minnie. She said, “Once I heard that Mickey and Minnie were coming to Landmark Mall, I had to bring my son to meet them. It’s amazing that shows like Disney Live! presents Mickey’s Music Festival are coming to Qatar. We look forward to the show next week.”

Landmark Mall’s Manager, Mr Walid Khoury, said, “We are delighted to be the official mall partner of Disney Live! presents Mickey’s Music Festival. Following the success of the mall event we had last year for Disney On Ice celebrates 100 Years of Magic, we knew we had to bring Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse back to Landmark. It was an exciting experience for Disney fans of all ages and the perfect lead up to the show. We hope to welcome Mickey and Minnie Mouse back to Landmark alongside their friends for future events.”

The stars of Disney Live! presents Mickey’s Music Festival arrived in Qatar earlier this week with 25 of their Disney pals. Due to popular demand, the show’s organisers, Sport & Entertainment Solutions (SES) added a new performance on Thursday, February 13th at 3:30pm to ensure everyone had the opportunity to see this lively musical extravaganza.

The stage is now set for the production while the cast has been rehearsing at the QNCC since arriving last week. Many of the cast members took time out during the week to visit some of Qatar’s sites, including Souq Waqif.

The performers, will reflect Grammy® award winning Director and Choreographer, Fred Tallaksen’s unique and creative style, taking the audience on an exciting journey of their favourite Disney hits from their favourite blockbuster movies of Disney’s Aladdin, The Little Mermaid and DisneyPixar’s Toy Story remixed to rock, pop, reggae, hip-hop, jazz and country, among other jams.
