'Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre' is officially playing in theaters worldwide.


Guy Ritchie's Hollywood action film 'Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre' starring Jason Statham and Aubrey Plaza as part of the star cast is all set to release on 18 March 2022. The film was originally slated for a 9 December 2021 release which was then postponed to 21 January 2022.

Parts of the film has been shot in Qatar, when Statham and Ritchie were in Doha last January.

This is Ritchie and Statham's second movie together for Miramax and their fifth movie together. Aubrey Plaza, well-known for her acting in 'Parks and Recreation', is also part of the star cast. The film also stars Josh Hartnett, Cary Elwes, Bugzy Malone and Hugh Grant

Ritchie has directed and produced 'Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre' from a screenplay written by Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies. Atkinson also produced along with Bill Block who produced for Miramax, which is also fully financing the film. Miramax is a global film and television studio owned by beIN Media Group and ViacomCBS company.

When the film was being shot, beIN Media Group chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi had commented:

What's the movie all about?

According to PR Newswire, the film is about MI6 guns-and-steel agent Orson Fortune (Jason Statham) who is recruited by a global intelligence agency to track down and stop the sale of a deadly new weapons technology that threatens to disrupt the world order. Fortune is reluctantly paired with CIA high-tech expert Sarah Fidel (Aubrey Plaza) and sets off on a globe-trotting mission where he will have to use all of his charm, ingenuity and stealth to track down and infiltrate billionaire arms broker Greg Simmonds.
