InterContinental® Doha The City is pleased to announce that famous Bavarian band, Harthauser Musi, will once again lead the hotel’s annual Oktoberfest celebration from 29th to 31st October.

Founded in 1907, Harthauser Musi gets its name from a small village outside of Munich called Harthausen, where the band originated and still practices today, and “musi” is a typical short form of the word “music” in Bavarian. Originally a traditional brass and marching band, Harthauser Musi survived both world wars. In fact, they played as a military band during World War 2. Since then they have maintained themselves as a traditional brass band but also now are known as "Party Band" with an international repertoire. They have played at Oktoberfests all over the world including South Africa, Brazil, Austria and, of course, Germany.

“We are delighted to welcome Harthauser Musi back to InterContinental Doha The City for this popular celebration,” said Pascal Eggerstedt, General Manager, InterContinental Doha The City. “It’s exciting because they are a Bavarian band so they bring the authenticity of the original Oktoberfest to Doha while at the same time their repertoire includes all the classic party songs to which everyone can sign along and dance.”

The band members who sing and play various brass and woodwind instruments along with guitar, percussion and accordion, will be outfitted in customary Bavarian dress of Lederhosen and Dirndl. To ensure there is something for everyone to enjoy, Harhauser Musi’s show will include a good mixture of traditional Bavarian brass music, rock and pop classics and the typical hits from the Munich Oktoberfest.

Oktoberfest at InterContinental Doha The City will take place from 29th through 31st October from 6pm to 2am. The celebration will take place in Al Jawhara Ballroom, which will be decorated as an authentic Oktoberfest Hall. Guests will be served traditional German food from live cooking stations along with Bavarian brews.

There is a minimum spend of QR 160 paid upon entrance or advanced ticket. Group bookings of 10 or more may reserve a table. For more information call 4015 8888.
