Shekhar Ravjiani

Though Shekhar Rajviani is a classical singer trained by Ustad Niaz Ahmed Khan and an accordion player, he stepped into music by chance during his stint with advertising when a friend of his was auditioning for Zee TV’s singing contest programme called ‘Sa Re Ga Ma’ Shekhar accompanied his friend who told him to also audition. He complied and sang a song for the judges. He went on to reach the finals of the show. That was 2007. A few years later, in 2010, he was judging the show!

According to Shekhar, Bollywood was not really part of his plans till he was introduced to filmmaker Mukul Anand by a friend of his and offered ‘Dus’ in 1997. He was then offered ‘Pyar Main Kabhi Kabhi (PMKK)’ by another filmmaker Raj Kaushal and the ball was set rolling.

Vishal Dadlani

Along with being the other half of Vishal – Shekhar, Vishal Dadlani is also the lead vocalist of his Mumbai-based electronic band called Pentagram which started him on his music journey in 1994. Today he is a composer, playback singer, music record producer, lyricist, and a performer all rolled into one!

Vishal’s first break came when Shankar – Ehsaan – Loy, Indian musical trio, asked him to sing a song for a Bollywood movie called ‘Jhoom Barabar Jhoom’. The song was postponed for some reason. In the meantime, he recorded a song for Pritam Chakraborty - Indian singer, composer, record producer, electronic guitar player and instrumentalist - called ‘Dhoom Again’. This song was released in 2006 before the ‘Jhoom Barabar Jhoom’ song and went on to become an instant hit as Vishal’s first song as a playback singer.

It was while Shekhar was working with PMKK on two songs, that he bumped into Vishal at the recording studio. The two knew each other since they were kids, and when they discovered they were both working on the same movie, they thought of doing a song for the movie together. They began to spend more time together, and voila!

Vishal - Shekhar were born! And, have been making foot tapping songs that are listened to by people all over the world. It's Qatar's turn now, and we look forward to welcoming Vishal - Shekhar in Doha in just over two weeks and listening to their biggest hits in a performance we just know is going to be power-packed.
