The Qatar Balloon Festival is the country’s first 12-day festival of hot air balloons at Aspire Park, where 33 hot air balloons will be gathering from around the world. This fascinating and colourful festival with balloons that come in a range of fascinating forms – traditional shapes and larger-than-life creatures - and different colours will surely be the talk of the town.
This first-of-its-kind, unique festival in Qatar is being held from 7 December to 18 December, and it’ll be a memorable experience for everyone who’s part of this historic event here in Qatar.
The Qatar Balloon Festival has been scheduled to coincide with three major events in the country :
• 24th edition of the 24th Arabian Gulf Cup Tournament: 27 November to 9 December
• 2019 FIFA Club World Cup: 11 December to 22 December
• Qatar National Day celebrations: 18 December
The surreal scene of a group of hot air balloons taking off and coloring the skies at sunrise is unforgettable. The balloons will start taking off and fly with the wind for a period of 45 to 60 minutes and then land where the retrieve vehicles will collect the balloons, the crew, and any guests onboard.
At Aspire Park a group of balloons tied to the ground by ropes will be providing a balloon ride experience to the public. The scene of the colorful balloons will be a fantastic opportunity to take photographs of the memorable experience.
A couple of hours before sunset (weather permitting) the Hot Air Balloons will be lifting off together to color the skies. This would be a perfect opportunity to those that can’t get up with the crack of dawn to see the mass balloons flying in the air.
As the darkness sets, the Hot Air Balloons are inflated and start to light up in tune with the music. This spectacular scene must be experienced on sight as no video or description will do it justice!
As the fantastic sight of colourful hot air balloons fill the skies, on the ground, there will be a number of food kiosks, children's activities, music and different kinds of entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.
13 different countries (including Qatar) are taking part in this eye-catching festival with a total of 33 balloons: UK (17 balloons), Germany (2 balloons), Lithuania (2 balloons), USA (2 balloons), Italy (1 balloon), Croatia (1 balloon), Portugal (1 balloon), Ireland (1 balloon), France (1 balloon), Spain (1 balloon), Belgium (1 balloon), Netherlands (1 balloon) and Qatar (1 balloon).
If you’re an Instagram buff, and just have to share what you’re up to, then this is a must visit event and quite the Instagram treat. You’ll want to share the colours and different forms of the hot air balloons as they take flight in all their glory lighting up the sky in a myriad of colours and vibrancy that you’ll want to capture and make part of your memories.
What better way to spend time with the family than be part of this fun event in Qatar that will captivate your attention and leave you awestruck. You'll all be talking about it for a long time to come after it's wrapped up and it'll become part of your fondest memories together.
