Doha Festival City, in partnership with Talal Bin Mohammed Trading and ADabisc , hosted a grand screening of the Angry Birds Movie for distinguished guests, media and ten winners of a competition launched on their social media platforms under the hashtag #DohaFestivalCity, as well as fans of the blockbuster video game Angry Birds, ahead of the worldwide release on May 12.

The exclusive screening marked the start of an exciting countdown to the opening of Qatar’s very own Angry Birds World, which will bring our favourite birds to life through a range of thrilling attractions.

Guests were immersed in a spectacular 3D cinematic experience of the Angry Birds Movie at NOVO cinema in The Pearl-Qatar, as they followed characters Red, Chuck, and Bomb on the journey of a lifetime. The evening also offered the opportunity for guests to meet and interact with the birds, while engaging in a variety of fun activities that catered to kids and adults alike.

Scheduled to open in 2017, Angry Birds World will mark a significant milestone for Doha as the first Angry Birds theme park to open in the Middle East. Featuring over 35 state-of-the-art attractions with dedicated indoor and outdoor spaces, visitors will have the opportunity to play and engage with the Angry Birds characters as they journey through the new theme park.

Angry Birds World will form part of a larger entertainment offering at Doha Festival City’s Family Entertainment Complex.

Trevor Hill, General Manager, Doha Festival City said “With over 38,000 sqm of space across four world class theme parks, including Angry Birds World, the Family Entertainment Complex at Doha Festivals City is sure to be one of the leading attractions in Doha, reflecting our commitment to entertainment and we look forward to welcoming Qatar residents and visitors alike from 2017.”
