Eid Al-Adha Festival 2015 concluded its activities Monday after five days of celebrations that drew crowds of thousands to venues across Qatar, including malls, museums and sports arenas.

The Eid Al-Adha Festival is one of several organized by Qatar Tourism Authority and its partners to showcase Qatar’s offerings as a family destination and, in the long-term, increase the number of visitors and tourists by building a sustainable and diverse calendar of events.

This year’s Eid Al Adha Festival sought to spread joy among residents and visitors alike, under the slogan “Capture Joy”. With this, QTA encouraged people to share their joy and happiness during Eid and transform them into beautiful memories. The campaign took place both online and on the ground in Hamad International Airport and several venues across Qatar.

“The Festivals are part of Qatar’s strategy to grow and diversify its tourism offerings in partnership with the private sector, and to promote Qatar as a family oriented destination”, said Mashal Shahbik, Director of Festivals and Events at QTA.

“We thank our partners at the various tourism hotspots around Qatar such as Katara and Souq Waqif which held its events in partnership with Sout Al Rayyan, for their daily shows and events and look forward to introducing more attractions to the Qatar festivals and events calendar together.”

The Eid Al Adha Festival 2015 included exclusive shows in several malls which ran from 4-10 pm and included Aladdin (City Center), Bob the Builder (Dar Al Salam Mall), Dora’s Animalito Adventure (Ezdan Mall), Cinderella (Lagoona Mall), Play D’oh (Hyatt Plaza) and Kids Circus (Al Khor Mall).

Among the highlights of the Festival was the “Frozen” tribute sing along where the film’s most popular characters, Elsa and Ana, sang the film’s most popular songs along with the audience.

Visitors and residents were also able to enjoy the QTA-sponsored theatrical performance “The Wrestler,” an Arabic play featuring child star actor Hala Al Turk and led by comedians Nasser Mohammad and Najwa Al Kubeisi. The show will continue at the Qatar National Theatre until the seventh day of Eid.

QTA continues to bring world-class events to visitors and residents following the Eid Al Adha Festival. The Authority is sponsoring the internationally popular show “Peter Pan – The Never-Ending Story,” which will be held at the Qatar National Convention Centre between 1-9 October, 2015. Tickets are sold at Virgin Megastores.
