Qumra is an international gathering of creative film professionals designed to contribute to the development of emerging filmmakers from Qatar and around the world. With a special focus on first- and second-time filmmakers. Qumra is presented by the Doha Film Institute - an independent, not-for-profit cultural organisation based in the State of Qatar. The Arabic term ‘qumra’ is popularly said to be the origin of the word ‘camera’ (in case you wonder what the word means J). Qumra is a great opportunity for anyone who is passionate about film!
