Qatar daily The Peninsula reported that Bollywood heartthrobs and real-life couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh will be coming to Doha during the “Summer in Qatar” programme.
The Indian celebrity couple will headline the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA 2019). The two-day festival will be held on August 15 and 16 at the Lusail Multipurpose Hall and will be a ticketed event.
Many more South Indian movie stars are expected to attend the above-mentioned celebrity gathering.
As part of the programme Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) also announced a Bollywood Music Festival, which will be held on June 14. Top Indian artists including Farhan Akhtar, Mika Singh and Rajini Tandon among others are expected to attend the event to be held at the same venue.
This year’s ‘Summer in Qatar’ introduces a wide range of exciting indoor and outdoor experiences, along with entertainment programmes featuring local, regional and international artists, edutainment, summer and sports camps as well as special promotions on inbound travel, hospitality and shopping.
The programme also includes stage shows The Smurfs and Hello Kitty, which will be held in QNCC. The ticketed event will be from June 25 to June 27.
Lagoona Mall will be staging free shows – Aladdin and The Little Mermaid for all visitors.
There will also be two nights of Doha Comedy Festival in August at QNCC.
