beIN, the premium TV entertainment network, has joined hands with Novo Cinemas, a leading operator in immersive entertainment experiences in the Middle East, to bring the action closer to fans for the 2016 UEFA European Championship. Live screenings of the matches will begin in Novo Cinemas in Qatar, Bahrain and the UAE from June 30 (Quarter Finals) to July 10 (Final). With beIN and Novo, fans can get closer to the action on the big screen this Ramadan and Eid.

Novo Cinemas is leading the charge in offering in-theatre, real-time screenings to movie and sports fans throughout the Middle East, presenting alternative content to redefine the sports entertainment experience.

Debbie Stanford-Kristiansen, CEO of Novo Cinemas commented: “Novo Cinemas continues to expand ways to excite guests with rich, alternative content beyond traditional movies. The partnership with beIN continues to prosper and offering fans UEFA Euro 2016 matches on the big screen is the next exciting addition to our diverse offering. As we look at expanding our regional portfolio and developing the in-cinema customer experience, we aim to increase footfall and showcase the opportunity alternative content sources provide.”

The UEFA Euro 2016 partnership comes hot on the heels of successful live screenings of a number of landmark sporting events, including the clash of the titans Clásico game between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid in March, also in association with beIN.

“We are excited to once again be partnering with Novo Cinemas, as we strengthen the emotional bond between sport and fans by providing enhanced experiences. I am sure that fans would love the opportunity to watch these exciting matches on Novo screens with their families and friends.” said Yousef Al Obaidly, Deputy CEO of beIN MEDIA Group.

The 2016 UEFA European Championship, commonly referred to as UEFA Euro 2016 or simply Euro 2016, will be the 15th edition of the UEFA European Championship, the quadrennial international men's football championship of Europe organized by UEFA.

beIN holds the rights to all premium football leagues in MENA and is eager to take the action closer to football fans in the region. Partnering with public-viewing venues is animportant cornerstone of this strategy. beIN believes while ardent football fans will always subscribe directly to beIN direct-to- home service, partnering with public viewing venues provides an opportunity to a wider audience to experience premium sports events.

With English and Arabic commentary from beIN well-known anchors, fans can watch the matches, starting with the first quarterfinal on Thursday 30 June. Tickets start from just AED 60 and can be purchased from Novo Cinemas’ mobile app and at any of the Novo Cinemas regional Box Offices.
