To mark this year’s National Day, Aspire Zone Foundation is organising a series of exciting and unique events in Aspire Park for all family members to enjoy. Running from December 14th-19th, the line-up of events include remarkable performances by the Qatar Army Parachute and Paramotor Team and Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), as well as classic car displays by ‘Mawater Qatar’ and an Instagram competition with awards up to 100,000 QR.
To kick off the celebrations, Aspire Park’s skyline will witness the country’s biggest skydiving performance by the Qatar Army Parachute and Paramotor Team, one of the top teams in the world, who will make their descent in the Park behind the lake near Al-Furousiya Street, on Wednesday and Thursday from 4:00-5:00 pm. The event is expected to be attended by high ranking officials from Aspire Zone Foundation and the Qatar Armed Forces.
Meanwhile on Friday, December 16th at 3:00-5:00 pm, Qatar’s Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) will dazzle with unique and lively shows performed by their highly trained horses and police dogs. These include displays of a variety of horse formations, barrier jumps, as well as tent pegging, a sport of ancient origin in which riders overcome an obstacle course while riding a horse and wielding a sword.
In addition, ‘Mawater Qatar’ will display a wide range of classic cars for the local community in general, and car enthusiasts in particular. With different cars displayed each day, the event will be showcased in a fun, safe, and family-oriented environment from December 15th-17th opposite outdoor pitch 10.
Throughout the weekend, Aspire Park will dazzle with its beautiful display of maroon LED flowers on the lake after sunset, complementing the overall colorful decorations lit all over the park.
In conjunction with these events, Aspire Zone Foundation will launch an Instagram competition from December 14th-19th to select the best National Day picture taken from within Aspire Zone’s facilities, under the hashtag #AspireND2016. Winners with the most number of likes will receive awards up to 100,000 QR.
