To mark this year’s National Day and celebrate Qatar’s glory and show national solidarity under the leadership of His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) has announced a series of exciting and unique events in Aspire Park for the local community.

The line-up of events includes a one-day celebration on Thursday, December 14th for AZF employees in the presence of AZF’s CEO, Mohammad Khalifa Al-Suwaidi, and other senior officials.

AZF staff celebration will include cultural activities, including the traditional “Ardha” sword dance by Aspire Academy student-athletes and AZF staff, a falconry and camel corner, and entertainment for families such as Henna drawings and a traditional Majlis.

On Saturday the 16th of December, Aspire Park’s skyline will witness one of the biggest parasailing performances conducted by the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), who will descend in formation into the Park behind the lake near Al-Furousiya Street at 3:00-5:00 pm.

Meanwhile, Lekhwiya special forces will dazzle with lively shows performed by their well-trained horses and police dogs. These include displays of a variety of horse formations and barrier jumps, and a tent pegging demonstration, a sport of ancient origin in which riders overcome an obstacle course while riding a horse and wielding a sword starting 3:00 to 5:00 pm behind Burgeri restaurant.

Throughout the weekend after sunset, Aspire Park will also dazzle attendees with its beautiful display of maroon LED flowers on the lake, complementing the colourful decorations all over the park.
