Aqua Park - Qatar’s first theme park - will reopen for the 2014 season from Friday, March 14.
Featuring 15 exhilarating water rides and attractions spread over an area of 50,000sqm, Aqua Park has something to offer guests of all age groups and swimming skills. Tickets can be bought at the gate or online to avoid queues.
A special pirate-themed party is planned at the end of March to celebrate the beginning of the season. It will feature a variety of special games and activities that will keep children and families entertained throughout the day. Dates and details of the event will be informed through Aqua Park’s social media channels on Facebook and Twitter (@AquaparkQatar).
From the opening day, all the rides will be open to guests, including the huge play area featuring the 2,000gallon tipping bucket and the park’s four-storey-high water slides. The full-size wave pool and the “guest favourite” 200m-long lazy river will also be ready to receive guests.
“Last year, we welcomed 3,500 guests during the opening week,” said Aqua Park Qatar’s general manager Mohamed Firdaus Raj. “We’re ready to welcome an even larger number of guests this year.” A total of 160,000 people visited Aqua Park in 2013, with more than 170,000 guests anticipated in 2014.
A spectacular new ride is planned to be opened later in the season, as well as the launch of a loyalty programme that will offer special benefits to members. “We are in the process of finalising the details of the membership programme and will release further information at a later stage,”
said Raj.
Fridays will be family days with no bachelors allowed into the park. Also, from April, Tuesdays will exclusively be ladies’ days. Timings, details and the latest news can be found on the website, aquaparkqatar.com, or through the park’s social media channels.
