The April festival concluded at both Souq Waqif and Souq Al Wakrah today, amid great turnout from the public.
In a statement today, Director of Souq Waqif Mohammed Al Salem said the April Festival succeeded in achieving the goals set for it by the festival committee of the Private Engineering Office, pointing out that during the festival thousands of people gathered in venues designated by Souq Waqif for the festival and designed to respond to the requirements of all families.
The western arena of Souq Waqif was filled with large crowds, watching the African circus performances, while the young people played their smart games. Abdul Aziz Nasser Theater presented the first show of 'Snow White'.
Al Salem also praised the efforts made by the organizing committee of the festival to guide the public to the venues of events and maintain the organization.
Talking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Director of Souq Al Wakra Khalid Saif Al Suwaidi said that the festival has seen a large turnout estimated at more than 80 thousand visitors, as all the facilities were booked without exception, highlighting that there were no problems or difficulties faced during the organization of the festival.
In Souq Al Wakrah, Russian circus performances saw great public attendance, with its tickets sold out before its launch. Its shows ranged from acrobatic shows to jigs, as well as amazing animal shows.
Director of Souq Al Wakra praised the efforts of the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Health, security personnel, heritage police and organizers who were available in every corner of the Souq to ensure the safety of visitors.
The festival, which kicked off on 5 April, is supervised by the Private Engineering Office's festival committee.
