Water and sand may not always mix, but they do when it involves surfing in Qatar.

Aqua Park Qatar is preparing to open the Stingray Surf Machine, the world's first Surfing/Skim-boarding half pipe ride.

"For the first time ever in Qatar, it will be possible to ride up curved sidewalls at 90 degrees to the direction of the water flow," said Mohamed Firdaus. The Aqua Park Qatar general manager says the new ride will provide everyone with a thrilling and exciting body boarding experience.
