Once again, the outstanding performance of the Break dance world champions “Flying Steps” caught the Qatari audience by surprise, as the public did not expect such an alignment between the youth culture dance and the international composer Johann Sebastian Bach’s tunes. The theatre of Qatar National Convention Center embraced the most beautiful interaction among civilizations under the unique show of “Red Bull Flying Bach”.

The event landed in Doha for the second time as part of a worldwide tour following the huge success of its premiere in Qatar two years ago. Again it will present a selection of the most refined melodies of classical music with a contemporary youth twist. The show took the audience breath away where eyes couldn’t but gaze at the sight of moving body contours with full twirls over the head and striking postures in the air.

“A unique medley between modernity and tradition”; with these concise yet indicative words, one of the attendees described the “Red Bull Flying Bach” event, expressing their joy not to have missed out on this show. Another considered that Bach “would have wished to live in the twenty first century if he were to experience this exceptional performance”, while another simply said: “Bach was amazing today!”

Even the audience comments and interaction with the event couldn’t utterly reflect the wonderful picture depicted by the sounds and sights on the Qatar National Convention Center Theater. The group member steps were like delicate hands grazing swiftly the piano notes embodied onstage. This imaginary show will not wane in the Qatari public memory, the evidence being the never-ending round of applause at the end of the performance with signs of admiration and appreciation reflected in the audience look.

The worldwide “Red Bull Flying Bach”, including 26 cities this year, was launched on 6 January in the Swiss city of Lucerne to be concluded in Baku, Azerbaijan’s capital, on 14 December 2014 after having offered to the public throughout a whole year a singular experience combining ancient and contemporary arts in a magical fashion.
